i remembered the first day of school in secondary one 2005 was a long and boring day for me. the duration for lessons grew longer compared to the lessons in primary school, subjects were alot lesser too. i was very excited when my dad fetched my mother and i to school. my mother accompanied me at the foyer until the school bell rang. the student councillors directed us to the hall. when i reached the hall, the floor as well as my shoes were equally slippery hence i slipped but fortunately i did not fall. The embarrassing moment was that a group of guys sitting at the back of the hall was sniggering at me. Ever since i was in primary school, i loathed principals giving long speeches as i tend to doze off during his or her speech. Unfortunately, every principal are suppose to give an introduction on the school , school motto and school facilities. The most memorable and rare activity which other batches of secondary one students have not come across so far. Its a collection made for the victims of the Tsunami victims. I remembered donating my first day pocket money as i did not have small change. When we got to class, I remembered Mdm Jean Tan, our form teacher arranged the tables sitting arrangement and we wree sitting in twos. Though i was sitting with this boy in class for almost a week, i did not dare to talk to him so we were like strangers. It is not because I am anti-social but i was a little timid and shy. Recess was long for me as i was all by myself hence i did not go to the canteen. I stayed outside my class for the entire half an hour. After recess we had a short icebreaker games and i got to know more friends through the game. The student councillors brought us round the whole school. I was not very interested in the school as i was unfamilar with the it. I was quite amused when i found out that our school is the only school with the canteen at level three. Mr Koh Suan Lam gave us a briefing on the CCAs of our school. I was not very keen in performing arts and clubs and society CCAs therefore i attended the trials for badminton girls and netball. However i ended up in Girls Brigade and i am really pleased to be in this CCA. I could not adapt to a new environment and i do not enjoy being new. The first day of school was not as unenjoyable as i thought of. eventually things improved over the days for secondary two, three and four because i had became familiar with the palce and i had firends around me.
